5 Top Yachting Destinations Around the World

Last Updated on March 1, 2023

Summer is on the way, and now is the perfect time to start considering different options for yachting season. While some destinations continue to make the list year after year, some lesser-known destinations are beginning to make some noise around yachting circles. Let’s take a look at some of the top yachting destinations around the world. We’ll also take a look at what these destinations have to offer and why they should be making your list this year.

1. Croatia

Croatia can no longer be considered a hidden gem. The secret has been out of the bag for a while, and it’s not difficult to understand why. The waters are beautiful, and the coastline’s architecture is breathtaking. The region enjoys great temperatures all year long, with warm summers and moderate winters. The location is also known among snorkeling fans from around the world, and is great if you’d like to step out for some parasailing or windsurfing.

However, if you’re leaving from the US, we strongly suggest you have your yacht surveyed by a reputable surveyor before you make the cross. A trusted marine engineering company like Tess LLC, for instance, will check every major important system and your galley equipment, electronics, and all other items important to the fit and function of your yacht. If you want a less hassle beach trip, you can opt to rent a luxury yacht in Croatia and visit the pristine beaches this country has to offer.

2. French Riviera

If you haven’t been already, then you have to see the French Riviera at least once in your life. It’s the quintessential yachting destination with its distinctive resort communities, infinite sunshine, and scenery to die for.

However, the Riviera can be a bit crowded, so you’ll have to be prepared, but it’s a great location if you want to socialize and participate in events. This doesn’t mean you won’t be able to get away from the crowd though; spots like Port-Cros still have an untouched feel to them, and Porquerolles island is another great spot if you want to escape some of the bustle of the mainland.

3. Costa Smeralda, Italy

If you want a mix of untouched nature and luxury, look no further than Costa Smeralda in Sardinia, Italy. If you want to see something special, then Cala Granno with its network of marine grottoes is a must. The region is also known for its picturesque coastlines and white sandy beaches.

4. Greater Victoria, British Columbia

If you’re looking for something a little bit closer to home, then the Greater Victoria region is a great choice. The place is a haven for sailors thanks to its safe anchorages, craggy inlets, and beautiful sheltered bays. The area is also known for its diverse wildlife, and is a perfect spot to do some bird watching or fishing.

5. Bahamas

This list wouldn’t be complete without at least one Caribbean destination. The Bahamas should definitely be on your list if you’re anywhere near the Gulf coast. The Archipelago is only a stone’s throw away, and has some of the clearest, most beautiful, turquoise waters anywhere on the planet. The local culture is also amazing, and you’ll get to choose from over 700 islands, ranging from popular resort destinations to pristine off the beaten path spots.

Whether you were looking for something familiar, or to make a new discovery, all of these matching destinations should definitely be considered. Make sure that you look into each of them in detail, and don’t be afraid to ask fellow yachters for a second opinion.
